Guangdong Tea Group joint stock company (referred to as "Guangcha Group"), formerly known as Guangdong Tea Company established in 1950, integrates tea planting, processing, scientific research and development and domestic and foreign trade. It is a national key leading enterprise in agricultural industrialization. It has maintained the national leadership in tea export volume for 30 consecutive years, and is the leading exporter of green tea in the world. It owns nearly ten well-known brands covering different fields of the industry. It is a brand operator of the whole tea industry chain with global tea resource supply chain integration and operation capabilities.
"Tea is the national drink, Hangzhou is the tea capital", Guangzhou Tea Group is headquartered in Hangzhou, the tea capital of China. It focuses on tea, combines trade and industry, and develops in multiple ways. Its products cover tea, tea products, tea machinery, organic agricultural products, etc., and its sales network covers more than 60 countries and regions around the world. The group has established more than 20 Sino-foreign joint ventures, wholly-owned enterprises, and holding companies. It has branches in the United States, Japan, and Mali, and representative offices in Uzbekistan, Morocco, Algeria, and Pakistan.
The group has a 70-year history of tea business, combining traditional manufacturing with modern technological innovation, and its products have successively become high-end conference teas such as G20 and 2017 World Internet Conference. The group pays great attention to improving tea productivity and improving people's living conditions in tea-producing areas, and insists on improving tea production facilities with local governments.
In 1950, the predecessor Guangdong Tea Company was established.
In 1980, the company was granted the right to import and export, opening up a new development field.
In 2000, the company was restructured, injecting strong impetus and vitality into its development.
In 2009, the company became a joint-stock enterprise after deepening reform.
In recent years, Guangzhou Tea Group has taken the "Tea Belt and Road Initiative, Harmony East, West, North and South" as its guiding goal, leveraged its international trade advantages, and actively responded to the national "Belt and Road Initiative" initiative to expand the tea market in the countries and regions along the route. The Group takes the establishment of four major centers as the breakthrough point, and focuses on establishing the strategic support for the upgrading of the large tea industry: a large-scale innovative operation of the bulk export tea center, a multi-functional special tea center with outstanding characteristics and advantages, a comprehensive domestic trade center built by resource coupling, and a tea health industry center with innovative cross-border concepts. The Group actively participates in the construction of the national industry platform, takes the initiative to undertake the WTO/TBT-SPS National Notification and Consultation Center for Tea Products Research and Evaluation Base, and the "China-Austria Organic Demonstration Tea Garden" project jointly built by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Austria. Combined with the implementation of the "Standardization +" strategy, it explores the excellent national culture and promotes the integration of the three industries in the tea industry.
