Poultice is one of the five major dosage forms of traditional Chinese medicine - pill, powder, ointment, pill, and soup. It is mysterious and ancient and has a long history. As early as in the "Shanhai Jing", karma fat was recorded, which was used to apply to the skin to prevent chapping. It can be said to be the most primitive plaster.

With the development of history, the application of ointments has gradually expanded and been widely used in the treatment of various diseases. In recent years, with the rapid development of transdermal drug delivery systems (TDDS), the application range of topical ointments has also become wider.

Cervical spondylosis, periarthritis of the shoulder, acute lumbar sprain, lumbar muscle strain, lumbar disc herniation, cervical and lumbar bone hyperplasia, ankylosing spondylitis, knee arthritis, tenosynovitis, bruises, hand and foot arthritis and other bone pain diseases can be treated with plaster.

       1. Plaster, internal and external treatment, excellent effect

Doctors of all dynasties have advocated "the principle of external treatment is the principle of internal treatment". Plaster is the most common and effective method of external treatment of internal diseases. It avoids the toxic and side effects of internal medicine and has been circulated for thousands of years.

Xu Dachun of the Qing Dynasty said: "The decoction is not enough to eliminate the disease, stick it with plaster to block its qi, so that the medicinal properties can enter its pores, pass through the active collaterals, or take it out, or attack it and disperse it, which is more powerful than taking medicine."

The ingredients of the plaster are generally very complex. It uses the drug to directly apply to the patient's external acupoints or affected areas. The medicinal force can penetrate the skin, enter the soft tissue and bones of the affected area, and reduce inflammation and pain in the soft tissue, thus achieving the purpose of curing the disease.

       2. The plaster is composed of two parts: the drug and the matrix

Tang Li Chuo wrote in "The Book of Shang and the Truth": "In the South China Sea of Yuyuan Gong Town, my hair was ragged on my temples, and Xiangguo Ji took a plaster and pasted it on the sore, and it calmed down for a few days."

Specific preparation method: according to different conditions, choose the corresponding drug, soak it in vegetable oil, soak it for a certain period of time, put it in a pot and boil it, wait for the drug to dry up and remove the slag, and then boil it until it drips into beads, then add an appropriate amount of lead Dan according to the proportion of oil (depending on the different seasons at that time), mix well, and remove the pot from the fire (or remove it from the fire first and then put Dan). Wait for the medicine to coagulate as thick as a paste, cut it into large pieces, and put it in cold water to remove the fire poison. When ready to use, heat and melt, spread it out on a cloth or thick paper or thin oil paper, and stick it on the surface of the affected

It can be seen that since the ancestors, plaster is composed of two parts, namely medicine and matrix. After continuous inheritance and research and development, plaster has developed to today, although there have been huge breakthroughs in curative effect, skin-friendliness, breathability, etc., it has never changed. It is two components.

        Drugs - Pastes

Taking Baicao Jianggu sticker as an example, its paste is made of authentic medicinal materials such as blood exhaustion, ginseng, whole scorpion, fenfeng, psoralen, etc., which are reasonably coordinated with dozens of other monitoring drugs. It is produced by 24 secret processes such as picking, drying, crushing, boiling, soaking, drying, and removing fire.

         Substrate - leather cotton

The skin surface of the sticker is made of pure cotton fabric, which has strong affinity, avoids allergies, and is comfortable to use: the back of the sticker is made of imported leather fabric, which is not easy to penetrate, clean and hygienic, and has good air permeability. It is not easy to stick to the skin and not easy to fall off.

         3. The principle of action of plaster

So, why does the plaster pass through the skin? What is its healing principle?

The plaster itself has a transdermal effect

The drug of the plaster penetrates into the subcutaneous tissue through the skin, generating a comparative advantage of drug concentration locally, thus exerting a strong pharmacological effect.

In addition, because there are some highly irritating drugs in the plaster, strong stimulation can regulate the function of the body and promote the formation of antibodies and improve human immunity through neural reflexes. After the drug penetrates the skin and mucous membranes, it enters the systemic circulation through blood vessels or lymphatic vessels, and can also produce systemic drug effects.

The prescription of traditional Chinese medicine has the function of penetrating

The plaster prescription is based on the principle of meridian induction of general traditional Chinese medicine, and uses the effectiveness of drugs to coordinate with each other to form a compound of multi-flavor drugs. Generally, the dosage of drugs is large and heavy, and raw and fierce drugs are used to apply complex pathological changes.

Since the plaster is used for thin skin stickers, the plaster takes a drug with a thick odor, and introduces the drug to lead the group of drugs. The knot is opened and stagnant to the ward, resulting in anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, muscle growth, convergence, blood circulation and silting, passage and collateralization, opening the orifice and penetrating the bone, removing wind and cold, etc.

The skin and pores have an absorption effect

The skin plays a very important role in human physiology, pathology and treatment.

In the meridian theory, the skin is the part where the function of the meridians is reflected on the body surface, and it is also the place where the qi of the meridians is distributed. It resides in the outermost layer of the human body and is the protective barrier of the body. It is also the receiving device and effector of the body. (The skin is the area of the body surface divided by the distribution of the twelve meridians, and it is also the alias of meridians.)

The plaster is applied to the skin to promote the opening of the pores of the occluded sweat glands, which can form the advantage of centralized medication locally and reach the lesion; a large number of effective ingredients of the drug can be agglomerated in the affected tissue to achieve the effect of reducing swelling, reducing inflammation and repairing diseased tissue.

The plaster is the crystallization of the wisdom of the ancestors, which has been passed down for thousands of years and has brought hope to countless pain patients. The plaster is not only safe, but also has good curative effect and can be used by everyone. It is a good helper for the treatment of bone disease pain. It is very important to use it rationally!
