For Baidu, it is not recommended to change the domain name or change the original page URL during the website revision process. As long as you do so, the website ranking and inclusion will definitely have an impact. The impact depends mainly on how you operate. Here are a few precautions for the revision behavior:
First, try not to move the URL when revising the website.
First of all, I would like to emphasize again, unless absolutely necessary, do not change the domain name, including changing the URL of the original page, try to make a page for a unique URL, which means that each of us has a unique name. In real life, if we change the name, everyone can at least recognize you when they see your face, but for web pages, if you change the URL, search engines will treat it as a new page. Even if you make a 301 jump and submit a revision rule, you still need a weight transfer process. During this process, traffic will be somewhat lost.
What's more, after the revision of some websites, the 301 jump, revision rule submission, and dead chain processing are not perfect, which will cause the weight of the original page to not be transferred in time and 100%.
Second, the old and new URLs must have rules to follow
Well, if you really want to change it, whether you change the domain name or modify the original URL structure, the old and new page URLs must have rules to follow, which is good for the later 301 jump and webmaster tool submission revision rules. For example, if your old URL is www.a.com/2016/123.html, then the new URL should try to keep the ID unchanged, for example www.b.com/2016/123.html.
Third, do a good job in the old and new URL301 jump relationship
Change the domain name or change the original URL structure. After completion, be sure to jump the old page 301 to the corresponding new page, rather than violently redirecting all pages of the old domain name to the homepage of the new domain name. The content body of the two pages before and after the 301 jump must be consistent. 301 jumps are just URL jumps, not content changes. For example, if you dial 110, but the call is finally transferred to 10086, is it very abusive? 301 jumps are the same.
Fourth, replace the link to the old URL in the new page
After the website revision is completed, there are still many links to the old domain name (old URL) in the new page, especially the links in the text of the article. The above links are replaced with new pages through procedures or manually. As well as friend links exchanged with other websites before, try to modify them to point to the new domain name.
Submit the revision rules in Baidu Webmaster Tools
As long as there are rules to follow on the old and new pages, you can submit the revision rules in the webmaster tool; if there are no rules to follow, you can only submit the old and new URLs, but this method is relatively slow to identify and difficult to operate. Submitting revision rules helps Baidu better execute the replacement relationship and quickly transfer the weight to the new page.
6. Check the dead links existing in the new page and submit the dead links
Because the change of the domain name or URL structure can lead to many dead links, some webmasters find it difficult to find the existence of dead links. At this time, it is recommended to use third-party software to crawl all links, find and collect dead links, and put the dead links in a text document, upload the server, and add the file address to the dead link submission of the webmaster tool. There are a large number of dead links on the website, which will affect Baidu's overall judgment on the website.
After completing the above steps, a few days later, Baidu began to release the rankings of new pages in the search results one after another, but it was impossible to replace all the old pages at once. Even after a year, the old pages may still appear in the search results page, but as long as the overall traffic of the website is restored to the revision, there is no need to make a fuss. In addition, the 301 jump relationship between the old domain name (old URL) and the new page is recommended to be retained. The longer the better, try not to be less than half a year.
