On the 11th, the special train of the Kazakh-Russian train "Harbin-Bikliang" packaging machinery departed from Harbin. The special train carried a total of 50 containers of goods worth 7.50 million US dollars and is expected to arrive in the Russian city of Bikliang in 18 days.
The reporter learned from the Harbin Municipal Bureau of Commerce that this special train is the first time that the Kazakh-Russian train has opened a special train separately. It leaves the country through the Manzhouli port and passes through major Russian cities such as Houbaikal and Irkusk, covering a journey of nearly 10,000 kilometers. The goods on the special train are packaging machinery and equipment produced by Harbin enterprises.
Since the opening of the Kazakh-Russian train on February 27, 2016, it has shipped nearly 23500TEU (TEUs) of containers. The Kazakh-Russian train has greatly shortened the domestic transportation distance to Russia. Previously, domestic containerized goods were mainly shipped by sea, detouring from ports such as Dalian to Russian ports. The transportation time is about 40 days, and the transportation cost is relatively high.
In recent years, Harbin has accelerated the construction of China's cooperation center city with Russia. In the first quarter of this year, driven by the sharp growth in exports of mechanical and electrical and high-tech products to Russia, Harbin's total import and export value increased by 7.2% year-on-year, higher than the growth rate of 28.6 percentage points in the same period last year.
