From June 1st, the Interim Measures for the Administration of Cooperative and Innovative Procurement Methods of Government Procurement (hereinafter referred to as the "Measures") issued by the Ministry of Finance came into effect. It is mentioned that the cooperative and innovative procurement methods are divided into two stages: ordering and first purchase. The measures aim to improve the system of promoting the integration of innovative Product Research & Development and application promotion based on government application needs, fair competition and risk-sharing between purchasers and suppliers. By supporting the iterative upgrading of the scientific and technological innovation system through government procurement, the radiative effect of financial funds on the research and development of applied technologies in the whole society can be better played.
Due to the high threshold for innovative medical apparatus and large investment, industry insiders believe that relying on the cooperative innovative procurement model, the R & D risk and sales burden of medical equipment enterprises have been reduced, which has stimulated innovation enthusiasm from the institutional level.
With the continuous support of relevant policies up the ante, in recent years, the innovation level of medical apparatus in our country has accelerated significantly, and the emergence of innovative products has accelerated. According to the data of the State Drug Administration, as of May 2024, our country has approved 271 innovative medical apparatus, an increase of 21 over 2023.

Global R & D centers expanded to 12
The annual report shows that Mindray Medical's R & D centers around the world have expanded to twelve. During the reporting period, the company invested 3.779 billion yuan in R & D, an increase of 18.43% year-on-year, accounting for 10.82% of revenue. As of December 31, 2023, the company had applied for a total of 10,090 patents, including 7,222 invention patents; a total of 4,767 authorized patents, including 2,226 invention patents.
