智能机器人是指装有多种传感器,并能够将多种传感器探测到的信息进行融合,有效适应环境的变化,自适应能力强,具备自学习功能的一类机器人。其主要特征包括:

智能性:智能机器人拥有自我学习和自主决策的能力,这是它们区别于普通机器人的显著特征。通过传感器等设备感知周边环境,并根据之前输入的算法作出相应行为;当所处情境超出算法范围时,也可以依据现有算法,作出符合常理的行为,以达到模仿人类分析、解决问题的思维与行动过程。

非自然性:智能机器人由人类创造和发明,是人类实践的产物。与智能机器人的非自然性相对的是人类以及其他一切生物的自然属性。故相较而言,非自然性表明智能机器人属于非生物,不具备生物体的基本特征,没有细胞、不需要新陈代谢、不能生长发育与繁殖,只能进行系统内部的自我修复与更新。
