Ceramic tableware is diverse in shape, delicate and smooth, bright in color and easy to clean. It is the most common household to buy tableware. However, the colored glaze on the ceramic surface may become a health killer. Lead, mercury, radium, cadmium, etc. in the colored glaze are all harmful elements to the body. Radioactive element radium can kill white blood cells. Cadmium, lead and mercury are all heavy metals. Cadmium and lead can cause liver or other internal organs poisoning, and mercury can cause liver and kidney sclerosis. When using unqualified ceramic products, these harmful substances will dissolve. As food enters the human body, it will cause chronic poisoning over time. At the same time, the clay for making ceramics should also be paid attention to. Poor-quality clay contains more microorganisms and harmful substances, and even without colored glaze, it will damage human health. Therefore, the specifications and quality of the product is particularly important. The colored glazed ceramics that meet the standards are basically harmless to the human body, while the colorless ceramic tableware that looks clean may lay hidden dangers for health.

When purchasing and using ceramic tableware, pay attention to the following points:

1. When purchasing ceramic tableware, you must choose the regular market, and you must not buy inferior products without formal manufacturers at a cheap price. The state stipulates that the ceramic tableware is soaked in 4% acetic acid, and the dissolution amount of lead shall not exceed 7 mg/L, and the dissolution amount of cadmium shall not exceed 0.5 mg/L. At present, the products of regular manufacturers can basically meet this requirement;

2, pay attention to the quality of the tableware when purchasing, touch the surface of the tableware with your hands to see if the inner wall is smooth;

3, smell with your nose whether there is a peculiar smell;

4, do not buy ceramic tableware with too bright colors. In order to make the color bright, the manufacturer will add some heavy metal additives in the glaze, so the brighter the color of the tableware, the more likely the heavy metal to exceed the standard;

5, the raw materials should be purchased, the process control is stricter in the glaze color, underglaze color tableware;

6, the tableware should be boiled in boiling water for 5 minutes before use, or soaked in vinegar for 2-3 minutes to dissolve the toxic substances in the tableware.
