    金刚石砂轮与刀头在设计上的差别

    金刚石砂轮的工作原理与刀头的差别金刚石锯片的刀头有自锐作用,而金刚石砂轮没有。

    刀头在切削岩石时,刀头与岩石是面接触。金刚石磨削下来的岩粉,不停地磨削胎体,因此使金刚石不断地新陈代谢,钝化的金刚石不断地脱落,新的金刚石不断地出露,使刀头达到自锐的能力。而砂轮则不同。砂轮与硬质合金是线接触。金刚石磨削下来的硬质合金粉末不会磨削胎体,也不可能使砂轮表面上的金刚石新陈代谢。因此金刚石砂轮表面上的磨钝的金刚石不能脱落,新的金刚石也无法出露。结果,砂轮很快地钝化了。 

    如何设计砂轮

    由于金刚石砂轮没有自锐能力,在设计时应当人为地控制金刚石的新陈代谢速度,加速金刚石的脱落,应使金刚石在钝化时能够自行脱落。只有这样,才能使砂轮能够在较长时间内连续工作,而不需要经常修磨砂轮。作者在某硬质合金厂看到,加工硬质合金工件的金刚石砂轮,需要经常修磨。究其原因,就是这种砂轮的设计与刀头相同,由于不能自锐,砂轮很快钝化,工作时间很短,就需经常修磨,这样不仅工作效率低,而且麻烦。
