Note: User interface (UI, User Interface) design is one of several interdisciplinary disciplines involved in designing software products. Whether it is user experience (UX, User Experience), interaction design (ID, Interaction Design), or visual/graphic design (Visual/Graphic Design), user interface design can be involved.
1. What is user interface design?
Broadly speaking, the user interface is the medium of communication between man and machine. The user issues instructions to the machine, and the machine immediately starts a process, replies to the information, and gives feedback. Users can make decisions about next actions based on user feedback.
human-machine interaction (HCI, Human Computer Interaciton) is primarily concerned with digital interfaces, from punching machines in the past, command lines, to today's graphical interfaces (GUIs, Graphic Design).
User interface design for digital products is primarily concerned with layout, information structure, and presentation of interface elements on display screens and various end point platforms. Video game and TV interfaces are also included.
