5G技术能做一些现在根本做不到的事情

通信在过去10年的发展,最重要的产品莫过于智能手机。未来究竟是什么技术把我们带入下一个阶段?5G技术成了今年博鳌亚洲论坛与会嘉宾热议的话题。

  威盛电子董事长兼首席执行官陈文琦说,5G确实是一个很重要的技术。一方面,5G利用了新的通信技术,这是和原来的4G技术结合在一起,可以使得5G的通信标准是用高频的,还有一些小的中频的。除此以外,可以看到有些非常有意思的进展,就是5G实现非常低的时延。以前人们说的LTE,也就是4G时代无法实现低时延的,我们现在可以看到很多新应用。

  说到一些新应用,陈文琦说,可以看到5G有很多的应用场景,比如原来有一些SDN软件定义网络,还有一些网络云化,可以让网格变得非常灵活,可以满足人类各种各样的需求,同时还可以满足新的物联网,让各种设备互联,“非常激动可以看到未来的时代发展”。

  苹果全球副总裁葛越认为,5G的发展趋势主要专注三个领域。首先,它可以实现超大数据存储量,比如说AR/VR这些技术随着5G的出现都可以成为现实,毕竟它需要极大的数据存储量。第二,可以实现极低时延,助力各种各样的产业,比如说多功能医疗设备,恰恰因为这样的极低时延可以远程控制医疗设备,可以实时地反馈各种数据。所以,随着这些新的技术出现,会有各种各样的可能性,几乎可以实时进行反馈。第三,机器与机器的互联,可以使非常多的传感器或者说是智能电表、水表等大家想象到的任何智能设备实现互联,这些都是因为5G的技术。

  “5G可以实现1-5毫秒的速度”,爱立信董事长Leif JOHANSSON说,在医学领域的应用,可以非常有效地利用这种超低时延,5G的优势在于它真的可以让一些极小型的机器人成为现实,包括AI、AR/VR,或者是一些智能化的机器人,能够做一些现在根本做不到的事情。

  VIVO创始人沈炜表示,对5G的研发,VIVO很早就开始布局,到去年年底已经在全球成立了六大研发中心,包括东莞、深圳、南京、杭州、北京以及美国的圣地亚哥,这些研发中心分别承担着不同的使命,比如杭州研究所主要是处理图像算法。

  “去年我们已经开始研究5G的天线和射频关键技术的研究,也加入了全球3GPP组织,作为终端厂家来说是技术贡献最大的终端厂家之一。”沈炜透露,今年VIVO计划在年底前完成5G实验用机的研发,配合运营商开展网络测试,最终计划在明年完成预商用终端给到运营商,2020年实现大批量生产。
